Shipping Industry is encouraged to use the Mediterranean voluntary reporting scheme VRS

Commercial vessels are encouraged to participate in the NATO Shipping Center's Mediterranean Voluntary Reporting Scheme. This entails contacting the NATO Shipping Center when entering or departing the Mediterranean Sea, and/or departing port in the Mediterranean Sea. Preferred reporting method is online via the "Mediterranean Reporting Scheme – Format A".

The preferred way to send the movement report is to complete and submit the online version of FORMAT ALPHA (Movement report) that can be accessed at: https://shipping.nato.int/nsc/operations/merchant-shipping-reporting/mediterranean-reporting-scheme.

Alternatively, the forms can be downloaded, completed, and submitted either via email to info@shipping.nato.int or by fax to +44 (0) 1923-956-575. This will enhance the ability of the Operation Sea Guardian forces to provide a safe and secure environment for merchant ships operation in the region.
